Geneanet and my research

 I spent a lot of time to study the German speaking catholic branch of my family with roots in Iglau (Jihlava) Moravia and Dittersdorf Freudenthal (Detrichovice Bruntal ), now Czech republic. In the 19th century they emigrated to Siebenbuergen and Banat, Austrian-Hungary, now Transylvania, Romania. The My Ludwigs from Dittersdorf stopped about 1822-1826 in Neu Arad (Uj Arad) where the head of the family, Franz SR., did his job from his birth place, stocking manufacturer (knitwear). He died in 1844. His son. Franz JR., married in Arad in 1840. His wife died in 1850 and he married second time in 1850 in Hermannstadt (Nagy Szeben, Sibiu). This time his father-in-law owned an inn and Franz had a stagecoach line which linked major cities from Transylvania. Franz was tenant of a hotel in the city of Kronstadt (Brasso, Brasov). Theresia Komprath born Ludwig - translation of her death record

Theresia Ludwig was born in 1821 in Dittersdorf Austrian Silesia (Freudenthal), now Detrichovice Bruntal Czech republic. She died in 1904 in Kronstadt Siebenbuergen (Brasso), now Brasov Romania. Her death certificate is very interesting because it gives details about Ludwig family: Ludwig Lipot = Leopold  könyvelő = accountant signed the death certificate. He was the son of Theresia's brother Leopold (1824-1888) with his first wife Hermine. Lipot was born in 1850. In 1904 he was living in Blumenau, Brunnengasse 24 (Kututcza), Fountain alley. In the Brasov address book his job was Beamter. Franz Ludwig Sr. family from Dittersdorf

 Marriage of Franz Ludwig & Rosa Leiter, Deutsch Liebau (Horni Libina), May 14, 1811     Franz (Anton) Ludwig Sr. was born in Dittersdorf. First 6 children were born in Dittersdorf. Juliana died in Neu Arad, Banat. The 7th and 8th children, Leopold and Joseph, were born in Neu Arad. 25.03.1824  12.02.1826 Interesting is the death certificate of the 6th child, Theresia, who died in Brasov. KUMMER & SCHERG KURMES

My ancestor Theresia Warton married second time with Karl KUMMER in Iglau, Moravia. They had 2 sons, one was Franz Kummer. They moved to Brasov (Kronstadt), Siebenbuergen. A descendant of Franz was Editta Kummer who married with the writer Georg Scherg Kurmes. Father of Editta was Oskar Eugen Kummer, son of Franz Kummer from Iglau:   Editta died in 2013
